On May 18th 2013, Delta Chi Psi presented its first annual Senior Sendoff in order to formally congratulate the accomplishments of brothers who had recently graduated. Over good food and company, many fond memories of years passed were shared among those in attendance as well as through videos dedicated to each graduating brother.  Although it is sad to see so many end their time as an active brother, we wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors and are confident that they will find success and happiness in whatever they choose to pursue. In closing, I would like to again congratulate all of the brothers who recently graduated and that we will always remember the dedication and time they have all given to this fraternity. The active house of Fall 2013 and beyond will continue your proud legacy and never stop moving toward bigger and better things.

On May 5th 2013, Delta Chi Psi came to out support and volunteer at the Broad Street Run presented by Blue Cross. At this event, ten of thousands of people from all across America came together to run ten miles through the city of Philadelphia. Many came to support the events of the Boston Marathon while many others also came for the adrenaline rush that comes from being a part of such a large scale event. No matter the reason, however, this event brought groups of people from every part of society together in a way that is rarely seen in modern times. The brothers of Delta Chi Psi were proud to support such an amazing event and look forward in participating in events like the Broad Street Run in the near future.

Hey everyone! This past week has been pretty busy for Delta Chi Psi as we participated in various events as part of Temple University’s Greek Week 2013. In addition to such events as Greek Olympics and Family Feud, Delta Chi Psi performed a skit for Greek Sing; a showcase performance event where organizations put on a performance to encourage Greek unity on Temple University Campus among the multiple Greek councils across campus. On March 27th 2013, Delta Chi Psi was pleased to take part in Temple University’s 2nd Annual Walk A Mile in Her Shoes. This event aims to raise awareness of domestic violence, rape and gender violence prevalent on Temple University campus as well as the international landscape. As the name suggests, men participate in this event by wearing women’s high heels and proceeding to walk a mile around the surrounding area to grab public attention and make a statement towards an issue that deserves much more attention than it does today. Delta Chi Psi was fortunate enough to participate in this event for the past 2 years and will continue to support the event not only to support our own anti-bullying campaign but also to support those whose lives have been affected by rape and gender violence.

So if you did not already know, Delta Chi Psi Fraternity Inc. decided to select Anti-Bullying and Bullying Awareness as its philanthropy last semester. Together with Her Campus Temple, ichoose2live and many other supporting organizations, Delta Chi Psi is encouraging others to come and check out Peace in the City, an event aimed at raising anti-bullying and suicide awareness through art, education and community outreach. If you happen to be in the Temple University Area this Tuesday, March 5th please come and enjoy the musical performances, art exhibitions and the informative play “When the Smoke Cleared” at the Temple Performing Arts Center at 6:30PM.

Hey everyone! Sorry that it has been so long since our last update but with the craziness of rush and the beginning of a new academic semester it has been a wild ride trying to find time to update everyone with our happenings.  Anyway, without further ado I present to you pictures from the first major event Delta Chi Psi was a part of this Spring Semester! Meet the Greeks is an event hosted by Temple’s Multicultural Greek Council showcasing all of the Multicultural Greek organizations from Temple University. Every organization is invited to speak about the values and happenings of their organization. Additionally, as a means to further display their beliefs and talents, some organizations also performed a stroll, step, or salute at the event which served as a means to show their individuality as well as bring all of the Multicultural Greeks together as a showing of respect. The Multicultural Greek Council here at Temple University is a tight network of close friends and colleagues and we all look forward to helping each other move forward in the future. On Saturday December 1st 2012 Delta Chi Psi held its annual banquet . The purpose of banquet is to celebrate the accomplishments made by the fraternity in the past year as well as give brothers, that would otherwise not see each other, a chance to bond and learn from each others experiences. Additionally, banquet is a time where particular brothers, who have performed above and beyond expectation, are highlighted and celebrated for their accomplishment.

Thank you Dat ‘Kratos’ Nguyen, Jay ‘Bushido’ Chen, and Mike ‘Kamikaze’ Bui for coordinating a successful banquet and congratulations to all of the brothers who received awards for their contribution and dedication to this brotherhood.

Before everyone headed their separate ways for this Thanksgiving holiday the brothers of Delta Chi Psi held their annual Thanksgiving potluck. Every brother of the Fall 2012 active house contributed a dish to create a diverse and hearty feast! In addition to enjoying good food and speech, it is during this time that brothers are able to reflect on the achievements of the past semester, welcome the newest additions to the brotherhood and finally look towards the possibilities and opportunities of the future. Delta Chi Psi has had an amazingly successful semester thus far and is looking to build upon that success with appearances at Villanova and University of Maryland College Park with step and stroll performances next month.
